OPT personnel have extensive experience in all areas of the deepwater drilling business, including design, construction, marketing and management.   

Members of our technical staff have been instrumental in designing and building some of the world's most advanced deepwater drilling rigs, including the world's most advanced semi-submersibles and dynamically positioned drillships.  Moreover, the projects we were involved in were among the most successful in the industry.

Our people have managed and operated deepwater rigs in the Gulf of Mexico, North Sea, West Africa, South East Asia and South America. 

We provide design, design review, and project management associated services for construction of new deep water floating drilling rigs, and conversion or upgrading of older rigs.   

We maintain professional relationships with many major and independent oil and gas companies.  We provide drilling related operational consulting services including operations evaluation, drilling equipment and vessel surveys for both operating companies and investors.

We have well established relationships with shipbuilders and conversion yards around the world, and a great deal of experience in shipyard contracting and related activities.
