Extended Testing & Early Production
OPT provides unique, low cost production technology for extended testing/early production in deep water. These systems can usually be leased, and allow the operator to put a few wells on production at low cost. This scheme has two major benefits at low risk:

If the field does not perform to expectation, the development cost is usually limited to the cost of completing the wells and the time charter of the vessel. If the field does perform well on early production, most of the subsea components are reusable in the life of field development.
This strategy is also useful in small, economically "stranded" fields in deepwater even where reservoir information is not a requirement, because the system can be leased. We specialize in production systems which are highly portable and reusable from field to field.
Conventional & DP FPSO Systems
OPT has developed a unique top tensioned rigid riser system (patent pending) for FPSOs which supports multiple risers and allows the ship to weathervane without the use of a turret. This system, which is based on well proven technology, is adaptable to larger vessels for life of field development, and to small, highly specialized ships for small fields in deep water. The risers can be installed using equipment on the ship.
OPT provides independent third party assessment of offshore oil & gas development projects in deepwater basins worldwide. We have a very wide range of experience with conventional floating production systems for service ranging from the Jean d' Arc basin to offshore China, including Brazil, the Gulf of Mexico, and West Africa. We are actively involved in several key projects.
We have EPIC contracting experience in converting existing vessels into floating production vessels, including FPVs with full drilling facilities. We have designed semi-submersible FPVs for very deep water and configured FPSO designs for challenging fields around the world.
